Iraq’s Oil Ministry announced it has begun exporting fuel oil overland through Syria following the disruption of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz due to the ongoing US–Israeli war on Iran.

The move aims to sustain national revenues, with shipments transported by tanker trucks and coordinated with Syrian authorities to ensure continued flow to export points, as Baghdad seeks alternatives to a route that normally carries around 20% of global oil supplies.
